The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD), partnered with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, the Minneapolis Veterans Home, the State of Minnesota, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to implement a three-phase, multi-year project to construct a series of improvements at Minnehaha Falls, a site that garners more than 850,000 people.

Council is currently considering options to undertake the work required to safely reopen the track.

27 December 2023. Myers Fall is a pretty little cascade tucked away off a long forgotten walking trail in Katoomba. The falls flow into a small but picturesque plunge pool and are about as secluded as you can get considering it's quite a short walk. However, this spot won't be for everyone, the walk is not long, but involves a steep climb.

Minnehaha (or Minni-Ha-Ha) Falls in Katoomba. To get to the pool it's a 20-minute walk from the car park including about 10 minutes of steep stair-climbing (descending in, ascending out). Once at the pool there are a few very picturesque spots around the edge to settle.

Minnehaha Falls Track Katoomba (also known as Minni Ha Ha Falls) is a beautiful bushwalk in the upper Blue Mountains National Park that leads you 1.2km along Yosemite Creek to a majestic waterfall and ancient swimming hole. The easy-moderate return walk is around 2.4km and takes about 40 - 90 minutes to complete, depending on your pace.

Distance: 2.5km return Elevation: 94m Difficulty: Easy but with a couple of steep staircases Summary: The walk to Minnehaha Falls is one of the easier walks in the Blue Mountains. The whole walk (there and back) took us 45 minutes, but we recommend giving plenty of time to enjoy the pool at the bottom of the falls!

This route for Minnehaha Falls starts from the car park at the end of Minni Ha Ha Rd in Katoomba. The walk in is bordered by native plants and has several small pools along the way before arriving at to a larger swimming hole as the base of Minnehaha falls, there is even a rock jump.
